"Since starting in February, Lauren has grown in confidence."

Helen Kay, Office Manager

Lauren, who is both supported and employed by One Fylde, had to compete with 5 other people to secure her job as Administration Assistant. She works in the reception with Julie, One Fylde’s receptionist, to help keep the office running efficiently by managing a variety of tasks.

Join the Gardening Team

The One Fylde Gardening Group is a social enterprise offering garden maintenance to homes and businesses across Lytham St Annes and Blackpool.

Our team is experienced in every aspect of garden maintenance, from weeding, seeding and mowing to jetwashing, drain cleaning, painting and even fitting decking.

Being part of the Gardening Group gives people with a learning disability the chance to learn real work skills under the guidance of caring staff. Both our Gardening Group and Recycling Team offer supported people the opportunity to enjoy the satisfaction of getting a job done and the camaraderie of working side-by-side in a team. Some great friendships are made here!

Join the Recycling Team

Every weekday the One Fylde Recycling Team collects cardboard from a number of regular collection points. Recycling can be a great stepping stone for supporting people into employment.

With the support of their caring and well-trained staff, the team learns about timekeeping, health and safety, responsibility, team work, and relationships. Their pride in their work contributes to their self-esteem, and their role brings them a sense of purpose and the physical nature of the job promotes good health and well-being.

The Recycling Team demonstrates the outstanding contribution that people with learning disabilities and autism can make to their community,

"They have gained in confidence and skills – and are respected and valued by all the other volunteers."
